Web Sampler Challenge, Piece & Plenty

As usual, Cindy has conned some of us into doing another challenge. This one is the WebSampler Celebration. There are 12 participating quilt stores and you buy a block from each one of the stores and a finishing kit from whichever store you like the best. I have chosen the finishing kit from Quiltworks. I have managed to get two blocks done so far. The stranger in the picture is the beginning of Festival of Trees.

Cindy, Lisa, Nicole, and Carol are also doing this challenge. Check out their progress, and if you are interesting in joining, let one of us know so we can link to you.

I am trying very hard to keep up with the Piece and Plenty BOM. These are the small baskets from Month 6. They are pieced and then I have embroidered the handles. Now I have to tackle the big applique piece from this month. I love the way this quilt is looking.

These are 2 sets of circle templates I treated myself too. They have already saved me lots of time. There is a set of small ones and another set of larger ones. I highly recommend them for appliquing those small circles. You can find them here.

And this is my laugh for you for the day. My ears have been bothering me a lot for a week or so. I really think it is just allergies, but I am so desperate that I went to our local health food store and bought some ear candles. Yes, ear candles. You stick them in your ear, light them, and the suction that is formed when the candle is pressed against the ear provides a drawing effect. It is amazing what that does. Absolutely amazing. I should have tried it on the ear that was hurting the most last, so I would have known what I was doing. At least one ear is clear. I have to go back and get some more of these, lol. And I picked up some "ear oil" to put in them after I used the candles. Talk about reverting to the middle ages or so, lol. That blur on the left is Aud's finger holding the camera.

And, if Haubeck will get in touch with me about the football betting? I don't have your email and I couldn't answer you.

EAR CANDLES???!!! WTH -- and you say it works? My ears have been giving me fits for the last month or so, and I'm desperate enough to try. I'll let you know!
The challenge looks like fun -- yours are really nice!

I've always wondered if the ear candles work...and how they can possibly do more than burn off your hair!?? My ears are bothering me. Is there a bug passing around from blog to blog, lol...let me know if the next attempt works for the sore ear. I may need to try this. With assistance. :O)

Your web sampler blocks are great - nice start. I am going to watch from the sidelines on this one but it sure was a temptation when I first saw it mentioned. One of these days I am going to jump in on one of your challenges.

Hmmmm. I probably should even tell you this, but I can't help myself. I believe you have one 4-patch unit (the one on right bottom) turned wrong in the top Websampler block. Am I wrong?
